Sport and food: the French need motivation, inspiration and sharing

Whether they're looking at a beef mironton or a semi-marathon, the French are looking for inspiration and motivation in their closest circle, but also online, according to a Kantar TNS survey for Elior Group and Paris 2024.

Beyond the social and conviviality aspects, which the French rank first as a motivation for eating well and exercising, digital also plays a key role. 75% of them use at least one social network, and almost one in two have already shared sports and food personal updates online.

47%

47% of the French who are social network users have already shared the content of their meal breaks (menus, pictures, recipes...) with their friends or followers.

The premier social network in France, Facebook is also first when it comes to sharing meal-related updates. Snapchat and Twitter rank pretty high too. Facebook is again the preferred social network for sharing content linked to exercise and sports.
